Grimsby In Domesday, Gimesbi. There are many vilages in the area starting with "Grim" so it is possible that they all came under the control of someone called Grim. Grim was also a pseudonim for the Norse god Odin so that possibility also exists. Odin was also known to the Algles as Woden which is where we get "Woden's Day" (Wednesday).
