A very old village known to go back as far as 1086 when a family named Colby owned the entire village. Many of the houses here are built of sandstone and date back to the early 1700s. Look carefully and you will notice some houses with windows blocked up reminding us of the time when the number of windows in a house related to the amount of tax you had to pay.
