  • Boston - In 1130, the town was Botuluestan (Botwulf's Stone). Locals like to think that Botwulf was actually St Botolph, to whom the church is dedicated. But the name comes from Viking times and the Vikings loved to name themselves after fierce wild animals. It is inconceivable that a devout Christian priest would want to follow such a pagan tradition.
