Office du Tourisme: - Place de la Mairie, Le Boulou. Tel: 04 68 87 50 95

At the foot of the Albères mountain range, just a ten minute drive from the Spanish border, the water therapy centre of Le Boulou is an oasis of calm, repose and fizzy water! The waters of Le Boulous is one of the reasons the town was originally built close to the Tech River. The medicinal and healing qualities of the Le Boulou waters are recognised far and wide. The waters are slightly fizzy (pétillante) and rich in minerals and carbs, and treating in particular digestive and cardio-arterial conditions.

It was the logical place to build a town - close to fresh water, good farming land and close to the mountains - making the scenery very impressive. Just a short drive in any direction will take you to Spain, the coast, the mountains and shopping. Ideal for the sole traveler or family, Le Boulou is convenient for everything you could want from a holiday or short break.

There is a railway here but it is for freight only. Beside the north-south autoroute A9 is the freight distribution depot. Trains loaded with produce come here for distribution over a large area. There is a new passenger rail route but this avoids the town to the east. But it is convenient to take a bus or taxi from nearby Perpignan.
